Download Kioku for Mac

   Open the disk image and drag Kioku to Applications

   Double-click the downloaded file, drag the Kioku icon onto the Applications folder, then open Kioku from Applications. The first time, macOS confirms you want to open an app downloaded from the internet — click Open.

   Look for 記 in your menu bar

   Look near the clock at the top right of your screen.

   Sign in and make your first memory

   Click the icon and sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password. Use the same account in the app and on kiokuu.com. Your 3-day trial includes 8 hours of recording without payment. Follow the first-memory screen, or skip it and choose Start Recording from the menu. After the trial ends or its recording time is used up, choose a monthly plan when you record. Manage your plan in Settings → Account & Plan; review plans and trial terms.

   Allow Microphone for your first memory

   Review the voice-profile and cloud-processing disclosure, then allow Microphone. Your first memory uses only your microphone. For ordinary capture, also allow Kioku in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, then click the Kioku icon again.

   Say something you want to remember

   Record a short thought about your day. Stop when finished; the first-memory recording stops automatically after three minutes. Voice recognition does not determine whether a memory forms. Manage your voice in Settings → My voice.

   Tell everyone in the room or on the call that you keep a transcript — you must have their agreement before you record. When you choose Stop Recording, useful speech can become a memory in the dashboard after processing.

6. 06

   Connect ChatGPT or Claude

   Add Kioku as a read-only connector and ask your assistant something only you would know. Connection guide →
