Kioku LLC provides the Kioku service. Email support@kiokuu.com. Include your device, what happened, and any error message. Do not email private recordings, passwords, or payment details.

Connect Kioku to ChatGPT or Claude

Both assistants connect to Kioku at this address:

First, install Kioku and record a conversation. When connecting, sign in with the same Kioku account.

Claude (web and desktop)

1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors (on some accounts it is Settings → Connectors).
2. Click Add, then Custom → Web. Name it Kioku, paste the address above, and continue. Some accounts still show Add custom connector.
3. Review the detected OAuth settings and choose Sign in now. Add the connector, then sign in with the same Kioku account you use in the Mac app and approve read-only access. If Claude asks how to identify its OAuth client, choose Register automatically.
4. In a chat, open the + menu, choose Connectors, and make sure Kioku is on. Then ask: “What did I work on this morning?”

Works on Claude Free (one custom connector), Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector first, then each member connects.

ChatGPT

Connect Kioku as a custom MCP server on the web. Your account and workspace must allow custom connections:

1. If required by your account, open Settings → Security and login and turn on Developer mode. On a managed workspace, ask your administrator to enable custom connections if they are unavailable.
2. Open ChatGPT Plugins, click +, and choose Add custom MCP server. Name it Kioku. Under Connection, enter the address above and choose OAuth authentication. Review the connection notice and choose Create as a plugin.
3. Sign in with the same Kioku account you use in the Mac app and approve read-only access.
4. Install the resulting plugin. In a new chat, type @ and select Kioku, then ask a question only you would know the answer to.

Custom-connection availability and permission prompts depend on your account and workspace settings. Kioku’s tools are read-only.

The integration can search and read your own Kioku archive. It cannot start or stop capture, edit or delete your data, or send email.

Troubleshooting a connection

• The sign-in page says “Start this connection from ChatGPT or Codex”: You opened Kioku’s authorization page directly. Start again from the assistant’s Connect button, which carries the connection details.
• No recent results: Open Kioku on your Mac and confirm that recording is on. Check the dashboard for processing status. Useful activity becomes searchable after processing; a long recording can produce several memories.
• Authorization expired: Disconnect Kioku in the assistant’s connection settings, then connect it again.
• Wrong account: Disconnect first, then reconnect and choose the same Kioku account used by the Mac app.
• Results are too broad: Add a person, topic, application, or time range to your request.

Privacy and account controls

You can pause capture, grant or withdraw iPhone AI processing permission, export supported cloud data, add or delete webhook destinations, or delete your cloud account from Kioku settings. Webhook events go to the HTTPS destination you choose; content-free notifications are the default. Disconnect an AI assistant from that assistant's connection settings.
