Refund Policy
Effective Date: August 29, 2026
1. Your Purchase Provider Handles Refunds
Kioku LLC ("Kioku") provides the Kioku service. Apple processes and administers subscriptions purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system, including billing, receipts, subscription management and cancellation, taxes where applicable, and refund requests under Apple's terms.
Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for subscriptions purchased through Kioku on the web. Paddle handles payment, tax, receipts, subscription administration, buyer-support inquiries, cancellations, returns, and refund decisions for those web transactions. Paddle refund eligibility is governed by Paddle’s Refund Policy and Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer right that applies to you.
2. Requesting a Refund
For an App Store purchase, request a refund through Apple's Report a Problem service. Apple controls eligibility, approval, payment-method return, and timing; Kioku cannot issue an Apple transaction refund directly.
For a web purchase, use one of Paddle’s buyer-support routes:
- Choose View receipt or Manage subscription in your Paddle purchase email.
- Open the Paddle-hosted billing controls from your Kioku account.
- Visit paddle.net and choose the refund-support option.
You may also contact support@kiokuu.com for product help. We do not ask you to send payment-card details by email.
3. Eligibility and Product Problems
Apple or Paddle evaluates a refund request under the terms applicable to that provider and transaction, including any statutory withdrawal period, product-defect standard, fraud safeguard, and non-waivable local right. Kioku does not make an additional blanket promise that every purchase or renewal is refundable.
If a persistent technical problem prevents you from using the paid service as described, contact Kioku support so we can try to resolve it and provide relevant product information. Approved refunds are returned by the purchase provider under its policy and timing rules.
4. Subscription Cancellation
Cancel an App Store subscription through Apple's subscription-management controls, or cancel a web subscription through Paddle's hosted billing controls. The iPhone app labels those routes Manage App Store Subscription and Manage Web Subscription when applicable. Cancellation prevents future renewal charges and ordinarily takes effect at the end of the current billing period, as shown by the provider. Cancellation is different from a refund request.
Kioku has no automatic usage overage charges at launch. If Apple or Paddle approves a refund, access associated with the refunded purchase may end in accordance with that provider's policy.
5. Changes and Contact
We may update this page when our product or a purchase provider’s policies change. The rights and policy in effect for a transaction are determined by Apple’s or Paddle’s applicable terms and law. For Kioku product support, contact support@kiokuu.com.
